The self funded independent game development team, Track7 has been working on their first major title "Theseis." It has been in development for about 2 years and has been steadily gaining visibility due to an increasing budget for video games. Although being an independent video game development company has taken it's toll. Which sadly lead Theseis to being a partially 'invisible game', where not many people know what the game is; or what it's about. Track7 states that they're around 80% complete with the game and are working on their second demo which will be handed out to interested publishers. Being independent has giving Track7 time to build their own engine, which will also be used for future projects.

This engine doesn't just make the scenery look good..

Since a lot of people have no idea what Theseis is, I'll tell you the story of what starts the adventure, and what you can expect to see while unlocking the secrets of Theseis.
The story begins with Roman soldiers attempting to break into a Greek temple, lead by a mysteriously cloaked man. A servant runs to inform his master that that they're here. The master predicted they would come, but not so suddenly, so he instructs the servant to take Theseis and take a secret passage to escape. The servant escapes on horseback to a cave that leads to into hades. There he pays a ferryman to row him through what looks like one of the 5 rivers in Hades. The servant then hides the theseis on a pedestal and gets confronted by many horrible things, and we're left to only guess his fate.

And to the true beginning of the game, taken directly from TheseisGame[link:http://www.theseisgame.com]: "Andonicos Kalogirou is a man devoted to science and the war against superstition. From his office in the historic centre of Athens, he has worked diligently for more than 5 years, traveling all over Greece and revealing the paranormal for what it truly is: drunken fantasies and uneducated hysteria. But his intelligible, safe little world is going to come crushing down when a call from Pheve, his adopted sister and fervent advocate of the mythic, informs him that his step-father is not only missing, but presumed dead as well. With a heavy heart, Andronicos travels to the place of his childhood, high atop the Greek mountains, to bury an empty coffin and reunite with his quarrelsome step-sister. Little does he know that each step irrevocably brings him and Pheve closer to what Destiny has in store for them. For the death of their stepfather heralds the beginning of the greatest struggle between good and evil with the prize being nothing less than the very future of this world.

From the hidden network of caves beneath the Greek metropolis, crawling with the remnants of a bygone age and the treasures of the past, to long lost places of legend all over Greece, Andronicos and Pheve struggle to uncover the pieces of an ancient conspiracy, kept secret through stealth and murder. But what they find could well be just the tip of the iceberg. For beneath the cover of shadows and time, a great power lay dormant, waiting for the time when it will once again come forth to the light of day, back amongst the people where it belongs."

Should've listened to me and stayed in the shadows. Now they're going to do to you what they do to people in prison

As for gameplay, Product Manager Demetris Papadopoulos stated that Track7 has chosen a non-aggressive approach where players will not use physical violence to overcome situations and progress in the game. Playing as two characters, Track7 tries to let players play the game using their heads and magical abilities that will unlock secrets to Theseis. NPC's might be better kept alive, so you will have to use your grey matter to trap and disarm instead of resorting to violence. Enemy AI will because to find you, see you, and chase you, so you will have to stay in the shadows and sneak around to progress rather then use the more aggressive approach and just mow everyone down with a submachine gun. The game uses an in-game cut scene engine with voice audio and a normal dialogue system, where you can ask or answer questions as you please. There is a lot of exploring to do within the game of Theseis, and some clues or information will only be found while speaking to key NPC's in the game.

With Theseis coming to a finish, Track7 is currently in progress of searching for a publisher for this outstanding Greek-themed adventure platform. You can expect it's release anywhere from mid to late 2008.
