Microsoft Xbox 360: GHII surpases 2-million downloaded songs

Guitar Hero II has had over two-million single songs downloaded on the XBL Marketplace.
In less than five months Guitar Hero II's DLC has passed 650,000 downloads, according to the RIAA; that's about two million bucks in Activision's pocket right there. Guitar Hero II has the most downloaded content out of any other game that has DLC available on the Marketplace, and a total of two-million individual songs have been downloaded (each pack comes with three songs). The My Chemical Romance song-pack alone had 50,000 downloads in the first week.

Activision was the first third-party publisher to distribute DLC onto the Marketplace, and if any other third-party publisher wants this success, I recommend that they do the same. Most gamers agree that they dislike paying for downloads that could easily be included with the game upon release, but through downloadable content games are getting more longevity, rather than sitting on shelves collecting dust after beating them.
