In celebration of Halo 3 -- which releases September 25th -- Best Buy has joined up with Microsoft to sponsor three free days of XBL Gold, for every Xbox 360 user. Yes, free. Say it with me, "free"...sounds good, don't it?

The three days following the midnight launch of Halo 3 are free; on midnight, September 28th the subcriptions will end and users without a gold subscription will be automatically downgraded to the Silver subscription. I'm going to assume the downtime yesterday was to prepare the XBL servers for the surge of users come the 25th of this month.

Now our loved GotFrag writer Murray doesn't have to worry so much about not being able getting online. Microsoft loves you, Murray.
