By August 12th there will be a price drop of $50 on the advertised XBox 360 Premium model which brings total price to $349. Should this also apply to core models, it will bring the price to $249 which should compete with the Nintendo Wii.

Coming with this price drop should be a number of financial analyzers trying to figure out WHY Microsoft did it. We should hear more by the end of the week if anything.
