Not often can you combine modern warfare with magic, but in Shadowrun, it’ll save your life – literally.
Developer: FASA Studios FASA Studios took their time in creating Shadowrun. With the original launch date set for January of 2007, it was later pushed back to April, and then again to June. Die hard fans may not have minded the wait, but those who are on the fence may raise an eyebrow as to what the big deal was all about. I gave this game my "Editors Pick for 2007" when I previewed this game back in 2006. Even after spending a few days playing this game I still enjoyed the concept, but I may have held up on the Editors Pick stamp. The RNA Corp is a government sponsored military contractor which is trying to hold on to a sacred artifact that has been discovered in a poor rural area of Santos, Brazil. Once discovered in 2011 by the RNA Corp, they have sought to keep it under control. An ancient Mayan family known as the Chancela family were those preserving this artifact without ever knowing its powers. Although, there is no story more, the idea of the game is quite simplistic. RNA Corp wants to capture the artifact of the Chancela family which is known as the Lineage faction. The rebels, if you will, are keen on exposing this sacred artifact to the world. They feel it is just and right, and everyone should be jolly and content with having it. The game takes place well after the discovery of the artifact; in 2031 you square off in a multiplayer capture the flag (artifact) mode throughout your entire campaign. |
