The next step in racing is a step into Forza Motorsport 2.
Publisher: Microsoft Genre: Racing Players: 1-12 Platform: Xbox 360 Release: May 29 Official Site Forza 2 Gallery After being delayed for what could have been considered an eternity, Forza Motorsport 2 is almost here. The details have been released as well as a playable demo. Forza has been fully stocked with around 300 different cars, each with its own rating to match the cars up according to performance levels. Ratings range from D, C, B, A, and S, with S being the best. There is also a “U” rating that stands for undriveable, which is saved for the cars that are not viable in the real world. Such a car is so highly tuned that its engine would tear the car apart. It took three months for the Forza team to create the virtual versions of all the cars in the game. The damage and customization systems took most of the three months, however, it seems that it all paid off. Customizing and upgrading a vehicle has the potential to move the car up a few ranks; for example, adding a supercharger to a “B” car may make it an “A”. A car’s paint is also customizable, with a photoshop-esque painting system, meaning players can create their own designs, with up to 4,000 layers. The car painting systems separates Forza from other racing games, along with the damage system that shows cracked glass and dented frames. The "injuries" show up in the right places after a collision with anything that stands in your way, whether it’s the car ahead of you or the pesky divider that came out of nowhere. Page:
