Known for their delicious ice cream, pretty girls and their witty newspaper comics, the Denmark based upcoming developer Zeitguyz looks to be the big thing on the 360.
After the presentation, the crowd cleared after some questions and I approached the man and introduced myself. I asked for a demo from the beginning and he quickly obliged. Through some mild interrogating questions, I found that I was not standing next to another would-be developer, but Morten Iversen. Who is that, you ask? You may know him as the writers of the Freedom Fighters or Hitman series, but now, he is one of the Zeitguyz. The guys over at IO Interactive might not have been too happy to see Mr. Iversen leave after several wildly successful Hitman games, but it happened. Although Mr. Iversen insists that his relationship with the publishing giant is still friendly, there might still be some tension. With years of loyal service under his belt, Iversen wanted to pursue an idea that he had for over three years. This idea has now seen some light as the Copenhagen based company Zeitguyz (loosely translated as “cool new thing”), prepares a very exciting game experience. "The backbone of the storyline for the game has been in my head for years. It played out more like a novel or at least a very straight forward, scripted game, and I couldn't quite seem to crack the code that I knew was hidden somewhere in that tangled storyline." In a post GDC exchange, Mr. Iversen told us "the backbone of the storyline for the game has been in my head for years. It played out more like a novel or at least a very straight forward, scripted game, and I couldn't quite seem to crack the code that I knew was hidden somewhere in that tangled storyline." An now, we are presented with the following: Urban Mysteries (working title), is the time traveling game that looks incredible. Its aspirations include an exclusive title on the Xbox 360 as well as a PC title, which will certainly turn heads. You play the role of a character (let’s make one up) of James. James has access to different portals and heads back in time to help change the fate of the world. Something so huge and important is a very delicate operation, just think about it. If you were headed back to 1939-1940 and wanted to prevent WWII, how would you do it? Would you find Hitler sitting around on a bench and shoot him? That is easier said than done. To stop something so huge, you need a plan and a way to blend in with the public to complete your missions. Brandishing a weapon in public will certainly have the police after you. Shoving a stranger on the street may get you a punch to the noggin. Your every move is life altering. Page:
