"Season 1 will be played with gametype Execution 4v4. The ruleset is posted and accessible; I would love to hear feedback from everyone in regards to the structure of the division.

Registration will be $10 per person and will open on Friday, March 16, 2007 with preseason beginning the week of April 1, 2007. The tournament will run as an 8-match season over 4 weeks, followed by a playoff tournament for a prize purse of $5,000."

While MLG remains the top resource for online Gears of War play, the Cyber Amateur League has a long history of providing leagues for top online games. Recent attempts to enter the console market by CAL with games such as Madden NFL 07 have gone over poorly, but an attempt into Gears of War may prove some success. Pay-to-play for Gears of War will hopefully prevent the extensive forfeits that plagued the CAL season for Madden gamers.
