Lesson 3

Advanced Techniques:

-Pistol Whipping:

Firing two quick shots and then landing a third hit as melee from pistol will instant down your opponent. This is dangerous as most skilled players won't even let you get that close without them shotgunning you in the face.

-Shotgun to Melee

Firing one shotgun burst that you know landed but didn't kill someone can be fustrating. So one way to get an easy down in a situation like this is to hit someone with a shotgun hit, then immediately cancel your shotgun pump reload into a melee hit, which will instantly down them. Be warned that if you miss your melee you'll take longer to fire off a second shot of your shotgun. (Unless you Melee Cancel *See Melee Cancel Below*)

-Sniper Charging:

Sometimes you might ask why someone with a sniper rifle is charging? Well, quick scoping with the L trigger can lead to quick headshots, as well as if you are a perfect reload it's easier to just aim anywhere on the body for an instant down up close, as well as landing a shot anywhere and then following up with the best melee attack in the game for an easy down.

-Roll Shotgun

The Shotgun is one of the best guns in the game due to its ability to instant kill up close. So what's a way to quickly cover ground and fire a shot at point blank range? By rolling. Running up to someone can often get you shot. However, rolling is a quick way to cover a short amount of ground and quickly recover in time to shoot your own shot while dodging being shot.

-Melee Cancel

When you hit B for melee with some weapons you'll notice that some melee's take longer than others to recover. You can cancel this animation by hitting A to take the nearest cover and then hitting B to Melee again. Repeat this to fire off as many fast melee's as you can in a short amount of time.

-Smoke then Frag:

When you throw your first nade, you get the voice activation from your character of "Throwing Smoke" or the enemy says "Incoming Smoke." However, when you throw your Frag, now that you've already had your character or opponent say something, now throwing the Frag does not activate that voice file, so your opponent will get no audio clue that a Frag was thrown.

-Empty Clip Before Engaging:

Before you engage the opponent, come in with an empty clip so you can start by reloading and getting a perfect reload for your entire clip/shot. This way you'll have the edge in combat.

-Slide "Glitch"

This is one of the glitches that is allowed in play and it is ESSENTIAL that you learn this. Otherwise you'll probably die every time you pick up a weapon.

Step 1:

Be moving towards the item you wish to pick up, be it frags,a gun, or ANY action that requires X such as curb stomping or reviving a teammate.

Step 2:

As you run over the item you wish to pick up, or curb stomp, etc. Repeatedly Mash X and A at the same time, while still holding the direction you wish to go in.

Step 3:

You'll now notice that instead of doing the forced animation of the X action, such as picking up a gun or frag, or doing the curb stomp or reviving a teammate, you're free to continue moving without having to be paused to pick up your weapon. This is AMAZING when it comes to picking up an item that is under a sniper/torque watch.
