Peter Moore gives consumers some food for thought.
Peter Moore threw down a batch of numbers in his address to the 2007 Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas, making an attempt to highlight the relative success the Xbox 360 platform has been experiencing since its launch. Avoiding some of the rhetoric, here are a few points Moore brought up in his address:

(Note these numbers are not guaranteed to be 100% correct, and have not been verified by outside entities)

• Xbox Live has passed 5 million users
• 50% attachment rate to live (silver and gold accounts)
• 10.4 million 360’s sold
• High definition television set sales continued to see strong growth in 2006
• 100 Million pieces of content have been delivered over the Xbox Live Marketplace, with 70% of live users downloading
• 160+ games are available for the 360
• Attachment rate of 5.3 games per console
• XBL Arcade hit 20 million downloads
• 2+ million messages sent over XBL per day

Some impressive numbers, but its more than just numbers, and its up to the gamers to determine if Microsoft is bringing the gaming experience they want, or the home entertainment lifestyle they desire. If the answer is yes, than you’re well on your way to boosting these statistics, if the answer is no, there’s no shortage of options awaiting you in the digital world of tomorrow.
