Enter a world where non-stop battle is at every corner. Sapiens verus Alternatives fight to the bitter end in this highly anticipated 360 title.
Developer: Webzen If you were told that Huxley is inspired by A Brave New World, a classic sci-fi novel, some of you would say, “A Brave What?” and others of you would say, “Ok… Huxley’s about a lack of individuality, and babies made in labs.” So, what if you threw in a horde of mutants, massive weapons, deadly vehicles, and 100 versus 100 PvP action? That would give you a better idea of what Huxley is all about. Set in the future, fossil fuels are exhausted, technologies old and new co-exist together, and the war for control over the world’s remaining energy sources is never-ending. This war, the very center of existence in the Huxley world, is fought over by two playable races - the Sapiens and the Alternatives - and a non-playable race: the Hybrids, a twisted half-breed of Sapien and Alternative genes, bent on taking the worlds resources for themselves, and determined to destroy anyone, or anything that gets in their way. Arguably the start of a new genre, Huxley combines a massively multiplayer online game - capable of holding 5,000 players simultaneously per server - with intense first-person shooter action. Huxley will have a persistent world setting, so players can grow their character, accessing new skills, weapons and vehicles as they play. Unlike other MMO FPS’s, Huxley will be 100% action-orientated, with players relying more on fast reflexes, and a faster trigger finger, than a strategic mind like most other games that claim to belong to the genre. This is a whole new style of game. For such a fast-paced action game, a good graphics engine will be needed to take the strain, and if the E3 trailers are anything to go by, Huxley won’t disappoint. A customized Unreal 3 engine will take the payload, allowing for beautifully violent, richly detailed graphics. Webzen also brings their knowledge to the game. Creators of Mu, one of Korea’s top MMORPGs, the Webzen name on the cover promises a stable, smoothly flowing network environment. As with most MMOs, players will be able to choose a class, and additional skills will become available to develop a character according to class choice. Huxley looks set to use the usual mixture of classes you’d expect in an MMO. Enforcers are big and slow, but capable of sucking up massive damage before they fall, making for the perfect tank. Phantom’s are the exact opposite; fast and agile, but limited to light armor, they’ll make for excellent scouts. Other classes are promised, all with their own role in advancing their race’s interests. Page:
