Check out the Dead or Alive 4 action underway here at the DirecTV 2007 Championship Gaming Invitationals. With the cameras rolling, the lights flashing, Fata1ity with a microphone pressed infront of his face, the CGI DOA4 tournament was sizzling. Presented in a huge, round centered stage, fans roared and watched an amazing bout between veterans and first timers mash some buttons together to put on a really entertaining event. Between the camera filming and the very well thought out activities, the show went on seamlessly. Some of the ladies during the event started off strong, including first timer Vanessa Ortega of the PMS organization. After starting off strong Ortega let her first televised event slip away. For most of the players who were not successful, this was simply a step in the big scheme of things; no one seemed to be out for the count. In the first match of the event, King took on coL.Perfect Lengend in an incredible match, where the favorite (Legend) could not hold up against the powerful King. Falling off of bridges into pools of water only excited the packed crowd, as sleek combos attacked one another. Vanessa "sleekness" Ortega had no easy start to her television and tournament debut, facing veteran Canadian Ryan "Offbeat Ninja" Ward. Ortega started the match by winning three rounds, but experience and nerves prooved to be a bit too much, and Offbeat took her down 5-3. It is noted for a first time performance against such a calibur player may hold a promising future for the PMS gal.In a grudge match, Swoozie took on another PMS representative "Katsumi Chan" in a repeat match from earlier in the year. Last time we saw the shocking upset when Swoozie was taken down in 5. Determined not to let that happen again, Swoozie fired out of gates and made quick work out of a great effort of Katsumi Chan, 5-0. "WHO'S THE MASTER NOW?" shouted from the mouth of Kat "OptiMystik" Gun after winning an extremely exciting match against the favorite, 3D.Master. In round 2 of the first match, OptiMystik had knocked down over 90% of Master's health, with her own sitting at around 10%. In no time, Master smacked his way back, nearly edging OptiMystik out of the round, but it was too late. Eventually Master kicked it into gear and took down the final PMS gal, 5-2.In the final round, two veterans, 3D.Master and Offbeat Ninja stepped into the arena against each other and powered their way into a very close match, with Master taking the victory. It finished with a spinning back kick that delighted the crowd, and the competitors.Check out tomorrow for an exclusive annoucement from DPAD, and more information about the days event. |
