Bouncing balls, bouncing breasts. If you need more of a description, then you may need a doctor. DOAX is back. WARNING: This article may not be suitable for viewers under 16.

The follow up to the first volleyball “classic” on the Xbox, DOAX2 promises to be just as well endowed as it's first. Aside from the women, part two will have much more depth to the game and justify its price tag once launched around Thanksgiving in North America. As some may recall from the first installment, the beach volleyball portion of the game lacked any real diversity between matches. It consisted of a simple serve, a two to three shot rally per side and that was about it. Aside from your gaming, you had one to two mini-games to choose from, plus a casino. Team Ninja’s lead designer Tomonobu Itagaki, showed off the game to the press this passed September in Hawaii, and then again at the TGS 2006 a few days later. Mr. Itagaki stressed several points of the new game: from its six different mini-games, to improved moves and interactions on the volleyball court, as well as a vacation mode where the player can idle and watch new lady friends try on different bikinis and outfits while testing the waters at a few games. For the second time, Dennis Rodman styled “Zack” is at his antics again, when he tricked the helpless volleyballers into thinking they’re entering a tournament at his Zack Island. Unfortunately, there is no tournament, so the ladies settle for a couple weeks in the sun. Mini Games As stated earlier, there will be six different mini-games to choose from, which will be readily available in arcade mode. These include: Marine Race – With a Wave Race appeal, or Hydro Thunder for you Dreamcast fans, your gal hops on board versus three others in a surprisingly challenging, yet fun ride around Zack Island. Hitting currents as hard as beach balls, you’re thrashed around the offbeat course between flags and obstacles. Tug of War – Probably a fan favorite for its title, two babes sit atop little floaties in a crystal clear pool and yank back and forth until someone gets wet. Honestly, it’ll likely be you before anyone else. Pool Race – Very similar to DOAX, your lil’ lady (if you call her that) jumps across little floaties in the water against an opponent, to get to the other side of the pool as fast as possible. Time your jump right and you’ll make it to the other side easily. Butt Battle – Two hot Japanese babes, with breasts larger than the average mans head rubbing buns together… Get your cold shower ready, because that is our next challenge. On a large floating raft, four cheeks are mashed together in an epic battle of ba-dunka-dunks. Beach Flags – It wouldn’t be a DOA game without a button smasher. And our fifth challenge brings us just that. With an Olympic styled flag race, run about the sand, jump and dive to grab a flag before your opponent does. Viewer Mode – Ever see one of those Jane Fonda work out videos? Yeah. Imagine being the producer of that video. “Okay Jane, hop into this,” as you hold up a hankie and ask her and her work out team to change into it. Play dress up, play the pervert in this mini-game. Have your gal make a man out of a tree log, go for a swim, lather up her girlfriends or just stand around and look pretty. Vacation Mode Aside from the arcade mode, vacation mode will have you show your athlete around Zack Island and make sure she has a good time. Meaning, earn some money and buy some clothes and little goodies to satisfy her hunger for being pretty. So hang out in the casino and enjoy Blackjack, Slots, and Roulette. Ideally this mode (on paper) would appeal to women. You spent a lot of time simulating a girlfriend experience by showering your babe with lavish gifts to keep them nice and happy. Learn a bit about their personalities and exploit them. Summary Let’s not kid ourselves. Very few of us like to play, or watch volleyball. If this was Dead or Alive Extreme Yahtzee, you’d still have the same people buying it. What we can look forward to in this game is a huge boost in the depth of the mini-games. If you want to oogle, you’ll certainly get your opportunity to do so. If you are seriously interested in some challenging games, and a bit of volleyball, Team Ninja is very prepared to accommodate you. The mini-games are no walk in the park, and the online play will give you another avenue to keep you entertained. Overall, this games’ stunning graphics and unique game play will keep you on your toes, or on your backs. Don't forget the gallery, here. Source: IGN |
