While driving in new business, Microsoft looks forward to keeping their loyal fans happy with this latest announcement from the Xbox Marketing Team. Within the next few weeks Microsoft plans to launch another update to allow the backwards compatibility of old Xbox games on the new Xbox 360. Previously Peter Moore, who heads Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division, stated that at some point updates on backwards compatibility would eventually come to an end. For die hard fans of the Xbox classics, this comes as scary news, as most gamers tend to hold on to their most cherished titles, long after completion. Whether this may force Microsoft and third party companies to start offering more titles soley on the Xbox 360, and less on the Xbox console is another question. Some believe that Microsoft may want to push their users to spending $299-399 for the latest in next generation consoles before it's rivals Nintendo and Sony launch their respective Wii and PS3 systems later in the year and beginning of 2007.
