I know this isn't the most active forum, but I'm possibly looking to pick up a 360 this Christmas.
I'm not sure what games I should be looking to get; I'm not huge into RPG-type games (stuff that takes a long time), and I'm staying away from FPS for console.
I'm generally more into sports games, fighters, and racing, stuff that can easily be put down. If I get halfway through an RPG or long plot-type game, I'll be less motivated to pick it back up later on.
Here is what I have so far.
For sure:
NHL 09 Top Spin 3 Naruto: Rise of a Ninja
Thinking about:
Devil May Cry 4 Soulcalibur 4/DoA 4 Suggest a racing game
Devil May Cry 4 is bad. just get DMC3 instead Soulcalibur 4/DoA 4 both awful. wait for SF4 instead of button spamming scrub fighters Suggest a racing game - forza 2 or midnight club LA
Outside chances:
BioShock - amazing. must buy GoW 1/2 - lol awful if you played any good FPS on pc (1.6, quake, etc) GTA 4 - terrible in comparison to GTASA and GTA3. every mission was the same thing

any fps on console is chitty, thats why gears is such a good game, it makes a console fps alot of fun and i love that you compared it to 1.6 and quake, two games that are indeed shooters but are shooters from a completely different genre, way to go brah
dmc4 blows, don't get doa4 or sc4, just get street fighter 4 which comes out in a month or two after Christmas, and all racing games suck on 360(at least not worth the money), just pray that gran turismo will go to 360 like all the other ps3 exclusives, and GoW 1/2 are both fails, id agree with #8 that skate is good, but i would just wait until skate 2 comes out, and naruto is terribad, but if your a fanboy then just rent it like others said, i'd definitely would keep bioshock and gta4 on that list, edit: and if you want a good FPS with online play i'd get battlefield: bad company
for sports i would recommend soccer: fifa09 hockey: nhl09 boxing: fight night round 3 hardcore football: blitz: the league 2 (you can break bones and even worse) racing: MotoGP 08/09
Don't listen to #18 about the racing games. As long as they keep making Forza games, the PS3 can keep Gran Turismo. The best racing game on any next gen console is easily Forza 2. Buy that if you want a realistic racing game, it's amazing. Plus it's only $20.
Skate is a must own, and even with Skate 2 coming out in a couple months, I'd still pick it up especially since it's only $30. It's the best skateboarding game ever released, ever. And one of the best sports games on the 360.
NHL 09 is also a must own for any hockey fan. Be a Pro mode is one of the best additions to any sports games I've ever seen, and playing on a team with 5 other friends online is amazing.
And Banjo-Kazooie was a huge letdown - this is coming from a guy who loved the originals to death. In fact I was just playing Banjo-Tooie a couple nights ago and it was far better than Nuts and Bolts.
Skate is fun, but Skate 2/TH10 is coming out soon @_@

Halo 3 is fun ONLY if you have 3 friends playing with you and even then its sorta boring.
put naruto games are so amazingly good, sure the story mode is like 2 days max but the fighting part of the game is what makes this game so unique. its so different from other fighting games and is real original. great fighing game, wouldnt label it as a "adventure" game

Given I'm in Canada, I don't imagine I'm able to utilize the Netflix service if I got the Gold membership for XBL. Is Gold worth it otherwise?

Be a Pro first came out with FIFA 08.
I personally don't like sports games much at all, but Skate 2 looks cool. :o

oh mirrors edge is sick but it's 5-6 hours long. if you think that's worth $60 go for it. i'd rent if anything.
