I used to browse them instead of the esports forums (where I'm originally from) but ever since gotfrag turned dpad into madden-pad all of the cool people and interesting discussion disappeared. I wonder if that is in any way related to madden being the 250th iteration of an uninteresting game.

oh wow have I missed Optimus' epic posts. I seriously can't believe what gotfrag did to dpad. there was a nice little community here of people who gamed on consoles and now I have to look at articles about players I don't care about and a stupid game that no one cares about.

#20 I saw them at curioso festival too, what a coincidence. I heard interpol for the first time in a skateboarding video from way back, but I can't remember exactly which it was or what song. I think it might have been tosh townsend's part in sight unseen - not for sure though.

Are they at Lollapalooza? I would kill to get to that, the line up is insane. NiN, RATM, Radiohead, Octopus Project, Santogold, Does it Offend You, Yeah?, so many bands I love. I just don't think I should throw down the money for tickets, travel, and drinking for that weekend right now (I'm expecting it'd total to like $600+). Other things I should be spending my money on right now.
GotFrag didn't like DPAD. Perhaps it was because our community was a strong one filled with people who could have an argument and discuss it in a articulate manner, even if it was over the most ridiculous topics (360 vs. PS3, KZ2 sucks, etc. etc.). We didn't have the Vacan's and whoever else that plagued the other forums; we commented and, sometimes, gamed together online.
We generated a sizable amount of traffic when DPAD was at its peak, but, again, we weren't liked so no matter how many hits we brought GotFrag it didn't matter -- we were heading down the tubes whether we liked it or not. The people at GotFrag -- not all, but those of you who took part in it know who you are -- had their own personal agendas and wanted to see DPAD fail; they thought it was a joke so they did whatever they could within in their power to bring it down. That they did. They successfully brought down one of the best communities on their site (DoD and DPAD were the best in my opinion). Do they care? No. If they did, it wouldn't of happened or they would realize what you, the forumers want and try to reinstate the original DPAD back.
If you want the old DPAD back stop commenting, stop visiting and write GotFrag a formal letter telling them to bring back the original DPAD with its original writers. Sure, 99% of the conversations held here aren't about Madden and most of the features are laughed at, but they're hits and posts; a reason, albeit a weak one, for them to keep this going.Stop posting. If you care, write the letter, if not, move along. Get a petition. Do something.
Yeah I did, I was wondering who you were on my friends list, hah. I got new hardware, supposedly called the "Opus."
The Opus project is a "Falcon" generation motherboard designed to fit in a Xenon case. You can expect an 90 nm GPU but a 65 nm CPU. Opus solves a major hardware recycling and inventory problem since Microsoft currently has millions of used Xenon cases from RRODed dead systems and this lets them use most of the good parts from the millions of dead Xenons but with a newer tested more reliable motherboard.
apparently microsoft has some super new chip to hit consoles in 2009 that is some sort of fusion between a cpu chip and a gpu chip. I remember reading an article about it a week ago or so, on destructoid or kotaku or one of those gaming blogs - when I find the link I'll post it here. at any rate, the new fusion chip is supposed to save power, increase both graphical capacities and processing capabilities all while being more cost efficient for the manufacturing process. pretty neat stuff.

i usually thought most of the discussions were absolutely retarded in this section... well written but about the most obscure minute details that meant nothing. BUT WHAT THE HELL ill admit it they were fun to read and i often read them! sad that it's gone.
No offense guys, and I am not sure who is telling you what, but this site never "generated a sizable amount of traffic", so what are you basing "sizable" on?
Those who ran the site know exactly why it was changed and if they do not want to admit the real reasons and want to hide behind some conspiracy theory, so be it.
If those who used to get paid to work at DPAD want to come back and work for free as the site did not even have enough traffic to sustain the staff we paid to run it, they certainly can come talk to us about that.
