I agree with the last two sentences of this article:
"Many expected the death of HD-DVD would trigger a growth in Blu-ray hardware sales. However, to the dismay of the industry, acceptance and adoption of Blu-ray has been dismal.
The PS3 is one of the cheapest (relatively speaking) Blu-ray players available — and you get the console thrown in for good measure."
Looks like no one is going to win, no victory for Sony here folks.
QUOTE: I don't own a 360 (used to, sold it and bought a ps3) but that's incredibly retarded
are you serious? blu-ray may have won the hd-format war but that doesn't magically create good games for the system. how many games are there out right now worthy of paying $60 for? like, three, maybe? the xbox 360 still has the upper hand until sony gets its promised games out on the market - one of which isn't GTA IV because that's multiplatform. as soon as FFXIII, littlebigplanet, and mgs4 come out then we might be able to compare the two accurately.
also, I don't think that putting an internal blu-ray drive in another sku of the xbox 360 really effects current xbox 360 owners. it's not like microsoft will put games on blu-ray, because if they did they'd be screwing the current xbox 360 owner base.

No....from everything I've read there aren't plans to make games on blu-ray, but they should certainly give the option of an add-on for current 360 owners though.
#11 do you think that'd be a good idea? an external blu-ray player would have to be at least as much as the hd-dvd drive was when it launched, and I don't think that anyone wants to pay $200 for it especially since you're only getting it to watch movies.

#12 Standalone Blu-Ray players are $400-$1000...so yes, I think that'd be a good idea. If they can release an external drive in addition to an integrated one, it'd at least prevent early 360 adopters to tack on to their system and watch HD content. The only other options are to buy a standalone player as mentioned previously, or buy a PS3....neither of which are very appealing...to me at least.
#14 call me crazy, but if the two choices were an external blu-ray drive for xbox 360 for $200-250 or a playstation 3 40gb for $400, I'd go with the playstation 3 for sure. I think the extra $150 to get the addition of a well engineered, powerful console with a handful of great games coming out is well worth it.

#10, you really think ffxiii will be only ps3? i doubt it, xbox has been doing well selling jrpgs, i think they might go multiplatform. even though ps3 is obviously the huge seller in japan, i think they would want american sells as well. just my opinion...
Xbox 360 Getting Blu-Ray
Hopefully they'll release an add-on as well...guess we'll see in a few months.
LOOKS LIKE MICROSOFT IS CONFIRMING THAT BLU RAY WINS
is this gonna be an add-on or just included, cuz if its included that would be sick

If I wanted an upgraded console every 6 months I would have bought a SHITcomputer.
