GamePro's February magazine says it has new info regarding Gears of War 2 - which has since been shot down by Epic VP Mark Rein - but it is all speculation. No hard facts were given, only the assumption of multiplayer improvements, four-player co-op, some graphical improvement and other things. I'd take this article with a grain of salt.
I can't see Gears going multiplatform. The game sold incredibly well the 360 (4 to 5 million copies to date if I'm not mistaken) and MS will keep it that way. There's no reason for Epic to go multiplatform.
MS owns the publishing rights. Anytime you see the "Microsoft Studios" thing going on your television, you can bet your ass they own it. Gears wouldn't have had anywhere near that kind of penetration without the MS machine pumping tons of money into for advertising.
so that would mean no gears on ps3. mgs4, URT3 DMC4, LBP, KZ2 will take up most of my gaming time anyway this year, and if it GeOW2 comes out next year i got ff13, ffv13, GT5, AND White knight story to keep me going. man that list makes me look like a huge ps3 fanboy but god theres really no games on the 360 i want maybe NG2 and Alan wake!!
ya maybe reminds me of ff8 and that was and in my view was the 2nd best ff game ever!!! MGS4 will take up most time. it be like "WHAT???" when i finish it. ill have to play it a couple of time to understand what will be going on!!!!
It is my understanding that Microsoft do not own the IP for Gears and only have publishing rights for the the first game and a sequel. Anything after that is up to EPIC.

so??? did i say the ps3 was better than the 360. no. i just said that most of the games i want are on the ps3. post a list of all the games u want this year!
I believe the point impact is trying to make revolves around the fact almost every word in your response was completely unrelated to the topic at hand, and only served to spark emotion in the already hyper-active PS3 and 360 fanboys, or to boost your own sense of righteousness for not purchasing a 360, though I do not see why you would need to make that point clear to everyone else.
anyway, if true i reckon gears2 would outsell gears1. its way more known now then ever. and its a must have for any 360. hell its better than half the games coming out these days!
#12 2nd best ff is ff6, followed by 4. many people think 8 was amazing cuz of its graphics for the time, but i seriously hate how people judge games by their looks. ff8 was good, don't get me wrong but didn't have the great story and characters 6 did.
and i can't see gow2 coming out this year, that is if they want to have any kind of back story at all. epic does well with the action but they need to hire some writers to make the game actually made for mature audiences, not just by having every other word being a cuss word, but with a good storyline, and that is what will separate it from the pack from killzone and the other shooters coming up.
#26 ff8 had amazing characters, squall's progression from being a little emo b1tch into an outgoing happy individual was extremely well done, and the ending where you don't know if he died or not is amazing. I almost cried when I beat it.
I hope they improve the cover system, it was really cool as a novelty but getting glued to any surface you within 3 feet of by simply tapping A was a pain, I hope it's more precise in gow2.
