I just want you guys to re-watch the ending to this game and listen to the music, the dialog, and the emotion of the characters...it's amazing how it all comes together. i've been playing halo since the beginning and i have to say im very happy with the ending. it gives me chills everytime i watch it and almost makes me tear up :D the conversation between mc and cortana is so emotional. very good ending imo. reminds me so much of halo 1 and all the memories i have playing it with my friends. I know i sound corny but meh.
Lol emotional? He has no facial expressions and his voice is very monotone with no emotion to it, you cant even sense sadness or madness or dissapointment he just says 'Wake me when you need me"

The ending was incredible by the way it was pretty much the perfect ending and its so badass how the Chief just said to Cortana "Wake me when you need me"
The ending was perfect it wasn't overdone or didn't go far enough it was just right. Great ending to an absolutely fantastic game.
#6 The ending was just right it to me avoided a lot of the cliches everyone was expecting. I thought he'd show his face or perhaps even die.
#9 That just means you know nothing about Halo. Master Chief is a character that is so well done you don't need to see his facial expression to think the things he says sound badass or if the scene we saw was an emotional one. Sometimes I really have to wonder if people bother to play these games before they talk trash about them *sigh*
the ending was not good... finish the fight, u get all hyped to finally see a decent... and it barely makes it to decent. to be finished with and u just wanna see the ending but no that cant happen, theres gonna be a halo 4 soooo we will have to wait another 2-3 years..
people are saying OMG finish it, did you forget that there is a possible halo movie and it may continue from where H3 left off.
I think bungie is working with the party thats writing the movie and collaborated in such a way that they would close h3 so the story is still open and the movie can pick up where it left off
think about if they make a halo movie and just used the storyline from h1 h2, the hardcore fan boys would go and everyone else would just be like, screw it i know whats gonna happen don't need to waste my $10. but since they left it open and if the movie was to take place after h3 every halo fan, not just the fan boys would go to see it because it would be new and fresh and maybe then it would close, or they might leave it open after the movie and close with another game.
I think bungie is very smart in the way they do business and mange the halo franchise
#25 Were it not for the singleplayer the series wouldn't be nearly as big as it is today I think. The multiplayer is great, but its the singleplayer that keeps Halo out of the average/mediocre category and what seperates it from a out there. It's the main reason a lot of people were so excited to get their hands on the game. Without the SP Halo would be just yet another Quake or Unreal. The SP makes the series what it is. Trust me all those incredible sales aren't mostly due to people dying to get their hands on the multiplayer because if it was the sales would be a lot more down to earth and not nearly as nuts as they are now.
BTW for people interested, what is shown at the end of the legendary ending is a hint about the Shield world aka the Planet Onyx where the other spartan IIs from Master Chief's Blue Team are located. They are trapped inside the shield world with Dr. Halsey the woman that created the Spartan Program along with Chief Mendez the man responsible for all the training the Spartans received and why they are as good as they are and the Onyx Planet is also where the Spartan III program was being kept under wraps. There are also some surviving Spartan IIIs that have been added to Blue Team.
The light coming from the planet is either the thousands or potentially million of sentinels on the planet that attack anything that comes close to the planet or it could be the nuclear blast that the spartan named Kurt set off to kill all the covenant that surrounded him in room where the entrance to the shield world is located. He sacrificed his own life to save everyone that was there with him and especially the Spartan IIIs which he began to care about like sons or daughters. Kurt was quite possibly even better than the Master Chief himself he was pretty amazing he helped train the Spartan IIIs and actually use to outperform Master Chief in a number of ways. The shield world (which is at the very center of the Onyx planet) on the outside is probably no bigger than a golf ball, but on the inside is far FAR larger than the planet Earth. It to me is by far the best place to continue the Halo Story. The events on that planet from the Halo Ghosts of the Onyx book really is deserving of a movie.
Anyone that is in this thread probably played Halo 3 or atleast saw the first trailer when Cortana says "I am your shield, I am your sword" Halo is the sword and Onyx is the Shield. It has a vey similar construction to a Halo except it can be safe from the fire of the Halo rings. You saw part in game where you rescued Cortana and Gravemind said "Ahhh I've found her secret?" Or something to that effect? I think he found out about the Shield World and it's very possible thats the secret Cortana was trying to protect all along. I believe she always knew about the Shield world and the top secret Spartan III program that was being conducted on the planet. So I think she purposely brought the chief to the Onyx to help the other Spartans and they didn't just come about the planet by chance.
People will also notice that Guilty Spark during Halo 3 mentions a shield installation then says nothing more about it. Halo's story is extremely good in my opinion, but a lot of people have no idea how intentional all the story telling truly is and the amount of depth that the Halo Universe has. Then again not everyone reads the books, but I personally think every Halo fan should check them out. They drop so many cool hints in there that will excite or make the game experiences that much more amazng for people that follow the books. The Onyx Planet is the absolute PERFECT place to continue the Halo Story so with all this bungie seperating from Microsoft nonsense I pray a movie is atleast made of the events on Onyx or we get a game of it. Hell I'd be satisified if they simply wrote a book concluding it all.
