So, I recieved the Halo 3 Limited Edition as a gift for my birthday. I zealously carefully unwrap the packaging being sure to keep everything in near mint condition. I get to taking the disc out when I see that it is not in its holder and in the middle of the right side of the box.
No problem, but wait, it's completely scratched. I've played scratched games before, heck, even my Halo 2 is really worn out after several years of play.
I put the disc in to my Xbox 360, which I have never had a problem with before, since I purchased it on November 22nd, 2006 @ 12:01 AM. I am on the loading Halo 3 screen for 5 seconds, I go into a chat with my friend asking if he wants to play Co-op, boom my screen goes pitch green.
I proceed to restart my xbox only to find the red ring of death pop up.
Yay, Halo 3 ruined my Xbox.
Needless to say I have the next two weeks off from school which I planned to play Halo 3 during...
I was on the phone with a supervisor in India for over an hour and in the final stages of arranging for a disc exchange / console replacement, I get disconnected.
I call back 18004MYXBOX only to be placed on hold for 35 minutes due to the heavy Halo 3 related call volume. It takes another 45 minutes to get to a supervisor, not "Rick", the one I talked to before, but rather "Kelly". She was very nice and apologized time and time again. I guess I'll be seeing Halo 3 on my TV next month.
I'm mailing out my game tomorrow, I should get it back in 1-2 weeks.
I'm getting a coffin in the mail in the next week or so as well.
The same thing happened to me with my ps3. I bought heavenly sword and when I popped it in, the screen loaded right up and I played the game all night.... oh wait?
man im glad i dont purchase consoles or console related items, all i hear about are bad things and when i watch someone play a console they have to give me excuses as to why the game sucks compared to a computer game
wii is the only valid alternate to a computer
Alpha Team Clan Shabba Krew Gaming Royalty Syndicate Two Thousand | Pie Squadron | Face Guild
PS3 and Gamecube are two of the most solidly built consoles i've ever had the pleasure of playing. Haven't played Wii yet but Nintendo knows how to build a console/handheld so no problems there.
Only os I never had a problem with is Win 3.1. Even OSX and some Linux distro's have given me problems. No point even mentioning Microsoft.
man that sucks sorry to hear that....my box is gettign repaired right now but i bought a new 360 so i could play h3...im returning it when i get my original 360 back. :D
Heavenly sword is awesome dont hate... sucks about your Halo but at least in a month you'll have a new game, a fixed system and (hopefully) a free month of xbl.
yeh there phone lines a ridiculous i rang up was on hold for round about same time wen they finally answered they put the F,UKIN phone down on me in middle of conversation , i rang back to find the lines had cloesd. they should of at least dealt with the rest of the call instead of ignorantly puttin it down in the middle of talkin i hate those BA$TARDs haha.
i was about to beat the last level of gears of war with my friends, turned on his xbox started it up and was about to battle that general boss guy, and his xbox red ringed

I guess CSPromod / TF2 will hold me over until I get it back. It's not that bad.
I didn't even pay for the game =]
I'll try to finagle a free month of XBL out of it as well.
