The battle continues as the epic journey to weightloss is attempted by gamer and DPAD Editor in Chief Mike "Australia" Antebi!
So where to begin? The diet has been going very well, and I cannot express to you how much better I have felt at work and at school throughout this diet process. My meals have been getting cut down naturally as I eat less, and my stomach seems to have shrunken (although slightly) to accommodate my lifestyle change. I must apologize to you readers for not holding up a part of the deal I made with you all, to show my progress weekly, but some university obligations are and will be priority, but good news lies ahead. Monday May 6th Ah, a little trip to the grocery store and my shelves are now stocked with tiny little sugar-free blueberry muffins. Contrary to the “carbs are the enemy” belief, I feel carbs fuel your body and are there to burn off throughout the day. Two dry muffins, with some Orange Juice, and my fruit fix and hunger fix was done for the morning. I enjoyed lunch today with my work-out partner, co-worker, DPAD writer and friend, Ricky. We headed over to Souplantation, and in less than 30 minutes stuffed ourselves with assorted salads (well at least I did), a bit of fruit, warm blueberry muffin and a smidge of mac’ n’ cheese, I couldn’t resist! Naturally my mind said, “mac’ n’ cheese, hit the gym extra hard tonight! And that I did. As I stated much less of my workout would involved muscle building and more would involve fat burning. In order to do that, I would have to make sure my legs and entire body in general was in the fight. The machine I worked out on, as I stated in other experiences replicated that of an upward hill skiing machine. My tolerance has been building day by day and I found myself hitting 20 minutes straight, without breakings. Some may shrug off the relatively low length, but for me, I taste victory. Since I have no time to eat dinner, after work calls class, after class calls gym, just before the gym I had my Wendy’s Special which included: Chicken Breast Sandwich and side salad with yogurt and granola (a tasty dessert). Tuesday May 7th So, as I write this, I look at my day of sort-of junk that I ate, I was kind of upset. Lately I’ve been very careful, and I still have been, but today I was off my game. Damn! Lunch, Subway folk were upset as I ordered a spicy Italian sub, which I dined with Gabe Dow (Nintendo Department Head). He was happy to see the diet was going well and didn’t think twice to consider my spicy Italian was anything but healthy! Good man, Gabe is. Lunch I had BBQ Chicken (BBQ on the side, thank you) from L&L Hawaiian BBQ restaurant. It was served with macaroni salad and white rice. After a long night of school, L&L really hit the spot. Uh-oh. What is next door? Penguins. No, not the animal, but the ice cream shop. Before you gasp, I did well. I went in and ordered a small German Chocolate Iced Cream (hold that gasp!), and if you’re familiar with Penguins, then serve sugar-free and carb-free iced cream! So it was not bad at all. I covered from my unusual sweet tooth, since I don’t like chocolate that much, and handled my evening with ease. Let us not forget the Wii time! Wii Baseball kicked my ass today, I lost 2 games in a row, what the... Wednesday May 8th My day off, for those who care, I woke up early just to eat a blueberry muffin. Now that I was grumpy and awake, the Wii cheered me up! I played Wii Baseball and Wii Tennis for at least an hour and a half and loved every second of it. Lunch was nice as I went to Ralph’s and picked up some fresh tuna to make myself a toasted tuna and croissant sandwich with fat-free pepper jack cheese; very satisfying. My crappy dinner at school was healthy, but not worth mentioning since it made me sick for most of my class… I should sue. That evening, my studly companions joined me at Powerhouse, where we handled some brute and excessive bike work, followed by some heavy leg presses. Page:
