While it is still unconfirmed, there is speculation among the media that Nintendo is preparing to release another update to its Wii remote strap. This would be the second such update and the third strap released for the console, overall.

The original Wii remote strap was noticeably thinner than the current model and less secure, as it was not uncommon to see pictures of TVs with Wii remotes stuck into them or missing a part of the glass after a gamer got a little too into his or her new Christmas toy.

However, speculation is that Nintendo is ready to release a new strap shortly and may have already started sending the new straps to gamers who were late to send in old straps for recall. While Nintendo has remained silent on the issue, GotFrag does not believe that a recall would be issued like with the first strap, but simply it would be shipped with new Wii consoles.
