Nintendo Wii: Caught in Wii Frenzy

A little late, but nonetheless interesting. A CNN staffer gets too close for comfort amidst the Wii Holiday frenzy.
As CNNMoney reports, one "lucky" CNN staffer looking to get "the number one present to give this holiday season" learned all too well just how anxious some consumers are to get their hands on a Nintendo Wii.

After waiting in line for about 2 hours, amongst droves of consumers, the staffer reportedly (and against all likelihood) managed to get a hold of a Wii. Unfortunately for her, when she got up to the register the store had an unpleasant announcement for everyone else in line.

"Sorry folks, that's it. There's no more for today."

As one could imagine, the lines were not very happy... And began directing their distress to the staffer currently holding one of the last Wiis sold. "Hey, I'll give you triple for what you just paid...," one said. "There's no way you deserve that game system...," said another. "You probably don't even know how to play. Here, give it to me. I'll put it to good use..."

"It only went downhill from there. While I was walking toward the exit, unsatisfied customers began to grab at my bag. Just like that! They were acting as if I was just going to give it to them. There was no way anyone was taking this away from me. I was caught off guard in a game of tug-a-war when a security guard intervened and rescued me from the chaos."
