Nintendo Wii: Wiimote, Google Earth

Everyone's favorite remote meets Google's Earth viewing program.
What started as a project on WiiLi.org to get the Wii remote to work on a desktop PC quickly evolved to something more interesting, as just last week we showed you the Wiimote up and running on Valve's Half-Life 2. Today however, we've found something perhaps not quite as ambitious, but seemingly more intuitively integrated as the Wiimote is used in Google Earth, Google's highly acclaimed globe trotter.

In the Google Earth Wiimote video uploaded on YouTube, the user intuitively moves throughout the globe in full Wii fashion; tilting, zooming and navigating across mountainous territory.

While this new use of the Wiiremote makes no hardware modifications, it joins the ever-growing list of Wii and accessory modifications, such as the visually impressive Wii LED Mod. Which, of course, does involve a bit of warranty ripping.
