Nintendo Wii: Luigi Look-A-Like Fools Store!

In one of the quirkier stories to see headlines this week, a curiously dedicated fan gets more involved than expected for the Wii Japan launch.
It seems that in all the commotion surrounding the Wii Japan launch, one (un)lucky fan found himself the center of attention at a local Akiba Yodobashi store, handing out the first Wii. How did this happen? It's a case of mistaken identity, dear Watson.

A seemingly eccentric Nintendo fan, dressed up in an impressive high-quality Luigi suit - complete with hat, gloves and shoes - was assumed to be an actual representative sent out by Nintendo on launch day. The fan, in full Luigi fashion, was brought up on stage to conduct the opening ceremonies, even handing out the first console. It wasn't until after the fan had his time in the spotlight that store employees figured out this Luigi look-a-like had no relationship to Nintendo at all. As seen in photographs, faux-Luigi was escorted out of the store soon thereafter by the "men in black," complete with kung fu wrist grip.

Luigi gets busted! On a side note, the masked fan can even be seen casually interacting with a consumer on stage in a Japanese news clip, uploaded on YouTube. The look on Luigi-man's face when he turns and looks at the camera is quite frightening, all things considered. He even appears later in the video (4:21) in a The Ring-esque moment.

So, what do you think?
I'm already inquring about that costume.
That guy is as slick as my Slip'n Slide.
Only in Japan...
