Nintendo Wii: Wii Remote on PC

Windows drivers already? Not bad we say...
With an Australia Wii launch still days away, it appears as though one savvy resident has managed to develop a basic Wii remote windows driver to be used in emulation of a keyboard, mouse and joystick. The developer, Carl Kenner, is a member of the WiiLi community; "An ongoing project to create a live Linux CD that will alow the Wii to boot into a fully fledged Linux Desktop without the need ofa maodchop, or any hardware modification."

According to Kenner, the first incarnation of the windows driver was developed without even a remote at hand, and the mechanics are expected to be much smoother once one becomes available to him in Australia. "Awesome! works great for not even having a test remote!," said Octovir, a fellow member of the community and participant in testing Kenner's work. For more information on this project, among other things, head on over to the story at WiiLi.org.

Update: Youtube now has a video up demonstrating the Wii remote on PC. Check it out!
