Nintendo Wii: Wii Remote Attacks 60'' TV

One wild remote gets a little too much into the action after it slips out of one gamer's hand, only to meet Mr.TV head on. Hmm... a TV remote look-a-like attacking a TV. Sounds like a conspiracy to us.
Just one day after launch of Nintendo's new Wii system, it seems there is already an incident regarding a flying Wii remote. After much testing, Nintendo decided it would be best (see: safest) to include a wrist band with every Wii remote, to prevent a slipping controller from impaling little Johnny's sister. However, as one forum goer at SomethingAwful reports, a little bit of sweat may have put a hurting on his wallet, along with his TV that is.

"We brought the Wii home and played it pretty much nonstop for the past 24 hours. At 12:10am, during a slower couch-sitting game of Wii Sports: Bowling, my Nintendo Wii got angry with me," said Tuxedo Jack. "My buddy Troy reels back to roll his ball as he's done about 300 times tonight suddenly feels the controller slip from his hand. (THANK GOD for the wrist strap right?) Nope. Wrist strap snaps. The Wiimote flies across the room impaling my 60" rear projection TV square inClick for pictures! the upper left corner." He would go on, "Be Warned: Sweaty hands + faulty Wiimote wrist strap = broken *** TV."

While he believes the remote may have only damaged the outer glass, he was none too happy about the happenings.

"I don't know much of the details about rear projection TVs. That might just be the outer glass. You can see a small white smudge from where part of the Wiimote hit the screen."

Do you think this is an isolated incident?
I seriously doubt it will be a problem.
I've already had my own experiences, sadly!
I think Nintendo should look into the wrist bands.
I think it's all a hoax to be honest.
