The week of November 19 promises enough excitement as people will be playing with the Microsoft Zune for the first time, have a crack at the Playstation 3 for those lucky enough to secure preorder slips, and now Nintendo is going to make sure its Wii launch is as exciting as possible in the nation's two biggest cities.

A Toys 'R' Us location in New York City and a GameStop in Los Angeles will be hosting Nintendo-sponsored launch parties for the Wii as gamers can gather and party as they tick down the minutes to midnight.

Nintendo is promising live music and entertainment and the chance to play the Wii in the hours before launch. Nintendo is expecting a large crowd so gamers will want to get to the event early to secure quality playing time on the Wii.
