By now you have heard about or played a Grand Theft Auto game. You either watched as controversy over the “hot coffee” mod took center stage with the ESRB, or as politicians blamed games like GTA for the troubled youth in America. Regardless of passed knowledge, you've hopefully watched as Rockstar Games brought gaming to the forefront with Lance Vance blowing away everything that moved. Now Rockstar is bringing us another GTA with Vice City Stories for the Sony Playstation Portable.

Rockstar has kept most of this game behind locked doors, revealing very little about the story line. It was early September when they released the first trailer introducing us to Vic Vance, the ex-soldier brother of Lance Vance. This game is the prequel to GTA: Vice City on the PS2. With the short but sweet trailer we also see a few vehicles we will be able to drive: a boat, helicopter, motorcycle, and of course cars.

Rockstar has just launched the official GTA: Vice City Stories Web site (http://www.rockstargames.com/vicecitystories/ ), offering some brief details of the game.

Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, its growth fueled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drug trade. Construction is everywhere as a shining metropolis rises from foundations of crime and betrayal.

As a soldier, Vic Vance has always protected his dysfunctional family, his country, [and] himself. One bad decision later and that job is about to get much harder. Kicked out onto the streets of a city torn between glamour and gluttony, Vic is faced with a stark choice — build an empire or be crushed.

Other features we get to see include multiplayer, though no details as of yet. We saw a sample of commercials, songs such as “I wanna know what love is” by Foreigner, and a couple of news updates. Look forward to more information to follow as it is released. For now, check out newest screen shots at the GALLERY.
