Sound Factor 5 spent plenty of time making this game look great, but did not stop there. The sound effects, voice-overs and score are excellent through out the majority of the game. Listening to the characters talk during FMV and in-game play was movie quality. The sound effect of the battle and just listening to the wind sore by as your dragon fans his wings was exceptional. Lair’s music really adds to the feel of a mythical adventure with over 100 minutes of score by John Debney (composer for Sin City). There were times during ground battles gamers may feel a bit disappointed as it is not as loud and overwhelming as one might think when your dragon is devouring thousands of ground troops. Value Lair is great adventure with lots of depth and ingenuity. Gamers will enjoy playing it to the end but sadly that is where it stops. With no online play other than a leader board to check stats and no side missions to add to the amount of gameplay, it is tough to see many gamers pick this game back up after completing the final chapter. There are certain factors that are measured for earning medals and unlocking a few extras but it just does not add a strong amount of replay value. Conclusion Lair does something very few games do any more and, that is taking some serious chances. With its innovative idea and game control it brings more to the adventure genre than anyone else. No true gamer should be disappointed as Lair is an excellent ride in every aspect. Even with difficult controls at times (and no option to switch to analog) this is a must play. Gamers may want to rent it first as it can be finished pretty quickly in the realm of games. ![]() + Amazing graphics + Feels like what I image flying a dragon would + Great sound and voice overs + Background score adds to feel of game + Gripping story you want to see to the end ![]() - Controls take away from the game - No online play - Few reasons to replay game after it is finished ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What the other guys are saying IGN: 4.9 out of 10 Gamespot: 4.5 out of 10 Gametrailers: 6 out of 10 PSM: 5 out of 10 EGM: 6 out of 10 GamePro: 3.75 out 5 TPS (TotalPlayStation): 3 out of 10 Play Magazine: 9 out of 10 Page:
