Spidey is swinging back into the hearts of all web-swinging fans everywhere. This marks Treyarch’s fourth game to feature everyone’s favorite wall-crawler, but as the first to hit next-gen it does little to show major advancement. Spider-Man 3 seems to have the same feel of the games that came before it. Yes there are some advancements and a nice face lift to graphics as well as some lengthy and entertaining side missions, but most gamers who have played the previous versions will have a hard time validating their hard earned dime on this one.

Gameplay
The main scope of the Spider-Man 3 is the main story line which follows the movie for most part with a few subtle variations. The game plays pretty good as Treyach seems to have finally nailed web swinging and battles. The true success here is playing as the dark and angry Black-Suited-Spidey. Everything is better in black and it's no different here.

If gamers simply play through the story they would find this game a bit quick and sometimes tedious with simple or even annoying puzzle sequences. Thankfully Treyach gave us over 40 side missions and free roam through NYC. The side missions actually bring gamers back to the game or at the least break up some of the point A to point B gameplay.

Story
Odds are if you ask most gamers, “would you really just want to play the Spider-Man movie?” most would say: HELL YES. It seems Treyarch did not ask. Spider-Man 3 follows the movie or about 80 percent of it. Though to make this game longer than 3 hours with load times, they had to make a few changes. Some changes were good, giving gamers a bit more play time and a lot of extra time in the symbiotic black suite. Other additions seemed like they had some time to kill before gamers were allowed to have fun. The missions were in most cases the better story line. Whether tracking down the Lizard or battling Kraven, gamers actually felt like the game was going somewhere.

Graphics
Treyarch did it right here. With the help from the power of the PS3,the graphics look fantastic. Even with the feel of a new paint job on an old car, gamers can almost sense the feeling of swinging through the NYC skyline. Some of the best scenes were simply swinging high over the city as the sun was setting, shadows forming perfectly with the environment with the lights coming on.
