Epic revealed the Playstation 3's motion-sensing control scheme for their upcoming timed exclusive Unreal Tournament III. A demo was displayed yesterday at the Leizpig Games Convention in Germany. It ran at a smooth 60 FPS and looked identical to its PC counterpart. As for the SixAxis demonstration, it was used to control The Redeemer; being used in camera mode, The Redeemer was controlled by tilting the controller, as you would expect, side to side. Go figure. In addition, hoverboards will be controlled in the same way, "twisting the pads to perform spins and tricks." An Xbox 360 version is due out later next year, but Epic is focusing on getting the Playstation 3 and PC version out before the holiday rush. Link |
