Playstation 3 sales have been below projection and losses have been high. Is now the time to see a price cut on the Playstation 3? Recent news states that Sony is definitely anticipating price cuts on their Playstation 3, almost surely by next March, 2008 when their fiscal year ends. The losses are starting to add up for Sony financially but this is a common thing in the following month and year or so after a console launch. Could this be the answer to a less than stellar reception of the PS3? I personally believe it would take almost a $100 price cut to make it more competitive with the Wii and 360. More news will be forthcoming on this topic, and a thank you goes to the GotFrag Hardware division for this piece. Funny, nintendo isnt experiencing half a billion in losses for their new console. Infact I think they are making money off of every console. Good thing sony was willing to put a division of themselves on the line by shoving some "next-gen" dvd player in that sucker.
you either have a bunch of income now but never hit high numbers, or you steadily increase your profit, surpassing the first amount after x years
Wii's are STILL sold out everywhere around me in stores. So dam hard to get one. Best buys around here have boxes and boxes of 360's and ps3s laid out in the store.
The 360's HD-DVD drive is only for people interested in HD-DVD movies.
Sony can cut their prices all day long, but without any good games they won't sell many
I might consider buying one at this or another price-cut-point.
Same goes for Wii, price cuts, and Ill consider buying...
lol
but if you don't care about high-def video and full 1080p that is where ps3 has a little problem atm
