First of all this may be the most redundant preview, and for all those who already know this game I apologize. Yet this is a game worth previewing for those who have been stranded somewhere during 2006. Little information is being released on Oblivion for the PS3, probably because the game speaks for itself on the PC and Xbox 360. Having won so many awards in 2006, including RPG game of the year and Game of the year from Spike TV and IGN, as well as several other game sites, there really isn't much else to say.

Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls: Oblivion on the PS3 will be the same game as players saw on the PC and Xbox 360 with the addition of a new chapter: Knights of the Nine. Oblivion is set in Cyrodil, a land of Tamriel. Like all RPG games the start is typical, the King is dead, the land is in terrible danger and the gates of Oblivion have released demons upon the people. On the other hand you suddenly become the unlikely hero that must take on this burden alone. Alone, yes alone because Oblivion is not a multiplayer game but a massive open world RPG epic that can last over 200 hours.

Oblivion can be played in a few ways; fulfill your destiny and play along the story line from point A to B, or fill your time with quests and adventure ignoring the story all together and then finally going back to the story line. As the main story is the overall attraction to Bethesda’s award winning epic, this will be the choice for most. No matter what choice gamers choose, it starts the same. Players will first decide on a race and be able to manipulate many if not almost all features of their character. As your character moves through the beginnings of the Oblivion, they will then choose a class. From there gamers will finally choose a guild and the real fun begins.

What makes Oblivion stand out among all the rest of the RPG games out on the market? Why should Sony fans be interested in a game that has been out for over a year on the PC and Xbox 360? Well if it lives up to the PC and Xbox 360, it will be because of amazing graphics, in-depth story line, outstanding character creation and development and completely innovative AI of the NPC’s. The last thing is, Sony fans are going to get the Knights of the Nine with Oblivion bundled together.

The Knights of Nine is an additional chapter to Oblivion. Gamers will follow the path of the pure of heart. The objective will be to recover a lost artifact from the farthest reaches of Cyrodil. Through tremendous heroism and faith, gamers will be able to return with artifacts of the Divine Crusaders and restore the Nine to glory.
