CPU The Technical: Cell Broadband Engine is run by 3.2 GHz PowerPC core, surrounded by 7 co-processing units and is capable of running up to 9 hardware threads. The Breakdown: This will give developers the ability to support a higher degree of AI (artificial intelligence), realistic environments, and greater level of particle effects.
The Technical: RSX chip runs a 550 MHz clock speed and 256MB of dedicated RAM. The Breakdown: With ONLY 256MB of dedicated RAM, developers will be limited to where they can focus their efforts. Will developers focus on character effects or environmental effects? With the smaller amount of RAM, Sony has allowed the RSX access to the secondary 256MB of system RAM.
