QUOTE:FF7 International is just the American release with Japanese text only, game-wise. There were things that were in the American version that were not in the original Japanese version, such as the Ruby/Emerald/Diamond weapon battle (and the Rising Sun you stole from the Diamond weapon), a more concise 'arrange' option for Materia (in the Japanese version, it simply clumped the Materia together by color, not by color AND same Materia next to each other), some added graphics in areas (signs in Corel come to mind), some FMV's (the one with the weapons coming out of the crater, and the one where Zack and Cloud arrive at Midgar), the W-Item trick/bug, the American version of the final battle, and some other stuff probably.
The International version also came with a 4th disc in Japanese text only, with stuff like character/weapon/armor/item/materia/monster info, and a clickable area map that had items.
#5 agreed completely. Torrent FF7 and get the visual upgrade, your characters look like they do in FF8 and the graphics are a bit smoother plus you can get higher res and better quality music.
what? it's going to look worse on a hdtv than it will on pc. ps1 games look like ass when upscaled. trust me, i'm playing through chrono cross on my PS3 right now
#10 it doesn't take a genius to know why JP PSN has a slew of amazing PS1 games and US store has like... crash bandicoot and spyro. yea i must read everything sony. winner.
Impact, how far are you into Chrono Cross? I tried playing through it last summer on my PS3, but there was a bug of some kind (I have an original 60GB PS3), where it would randomly crash constantly starting at like one point, I think I was like 12 hours into the game. I forget exactly where. Have you made it pretty far in?
I'm playing through FF7 right now, I have the black label boxes from when it was first released.
I'm trying to play through Star Ocean: Till The End of Time on my PS3 and it keeps crashing at one spot... it might be the disk though... i bought it used.
I wish Square-Enix would just make a seperate FFOnline franchise and stop using numbers of the -actual- franchise for that crap. I would bother playing them if they were FTP
