ReForce is program designed to counter-act the notorious Windows 2K/XP refresh rate bug, allowing users to manually lock in monitor refresh rates and neutralize software interference with the refresh rates. This version of ReForce is compatible only with Windows 2K/XP.

i think this dude is really noob.
the reforce uses to have 100 herz (100 images refreshed by second)
in 1024x768 (in windows) your monitor perhabs cannot support 100 herz.
here comes the reforce. remove all modes and just let 2.
like this:

X Y frequency
1024 768 60

640 480 100

X and Y, goes the resolution that you use for playing cs, i use 640x480.
so, when you start cs, the reforce will force you monitor, to work with 100 herz instead of 60.
it will run faster, the mouse will be more accelerated. you will note the diference.
if your monitor is like 20', then in frequency you can put 100.
but just becouse your monitor is "big" it doesnt mean that if you dont want to download it, you can.
when the monitor changes screen mode (example: from win, to cs) the refresh rate changes automaticly to 60, thats why we use reforce, to get 100 herz.

If you perhaps wanted a different way to set your refresh rate you could do it this way as well. It is however advised that you check to see what your monitor can support first otherwise you will get the black screen as mentioned a few posts up. 1 Start -> Run, 2 type dxdiag and press enter, 3 click on the "more help" tab, 4 click on "override", 5 select "override value" and type in the value of the refresh rate you want. Simple.
