Craig "Visorman" Bryden is the best Deaf Baller in the world and one of Madden's up and coming stars. GotFrag sits down with Bryden to discuss his past as well as his future in Madden ![]() If you could, please start by introducing yourself to the GotFrag Madden community. What is your team of choice, and how long have you been playing Madden competitively? I was born deaf. I first played Madden on Sega Genesis when I was a senior in high school for few months before I went to college. Since then, I did not play any video games or Madden for 16 years till Jan 07. I became addicted again playing Madden after watching Madden Nation on ESPN in Jan 07. I bought Xbox 360 and Madden 07 immediately after the Madden Nation series show was over and have been playing Madden since. Right now I play 1 to 4 games a week depending my busy schedule. I use the Cowboys and Patriots for money games... You've risen from unknown status in the community to one of the best up and coming players. What aspect of your game has made you one of the top 50 Madden gamers in the world in such a short amount of time? I believe I have improved a lot by playing with Gamersaloon players, going to 3 Madden Challenge tournaments last year and Players Bowl this year. I met a lot of people such as Problem, Reality, Shopmaster, PhillyRon and Chuck Hollywood and some of them gave me pointers. Also going to different Madden forums for tips have helped me a lot. I was very delighted to see my name on the Top 50. With such a long offseason to the Madden Challenge, what tournaments have you been at to keep your skills sharp? Will we see you at any events over the next few months? The only tournament I went this year is Players Bowl 1 (Feb 2008) I am trying to find the time to play some tournaments. It is hard right now because I own my basketball court business. My customers are buying courts from me lately so it is keeping me very busy. Only time I can play or practice Madden is when my kids go to bed after 8 pm. Do you have any expectations for your own performance at next year's Madden Challenge? Do you plan to do any special preparation for next season's event? I was told that Madden Nation Season 4 may be interested having me on the show. I would love to participate in the Madden Nation Show and represent for my deaf ballers! I am expecting to go far at next year's Madden Challenge because I am always improving and finding my strength and weakness everyday. My goal is to go to at least 5 Madden Challenges this year. Is the process of Labbing or practicing with other competitors made more difficult by your hearing imparement? Are there other obstacles most gamers wouldn't think about that you've had to overcome? Well I think it is true it makes it harder for me because I can not use the head phones while labbing or practicing. I can imagine using the head phones help ballers improve their skills while they are labbing with their partners. I just have to go to forums and learn how to get better without labbing with partners. I am looking forward having The Legend Killer to lab with me when he is free. We are going to communicate using aim messenger when we start labbing. I know it is going to be hard using aim messenger while we are playing but hey what can I do, it's the only way I can communicate live. Page:
