The the many Wii owners and TV watchers out there a new Wii TV Guide Channel has hit Japan to solid reviews.

The channel allows users to flip through TV listings, find favorite shows, set text alerts before a show begins, rate programs and interact with friends.

"The coolest feature we've heard about, though, is the ability to use the Wii remote as a universal remote control. Wii owners can use the controller to change channels, adjust the volume, and switch back and forth between their shows and the TV Guide Channel"

Before every American gamer gets too excited, keep in mind this is in Japan only for the time being.
