SCE UK announced today that the PlayStation 3 has sold 1 million units in the UK since March 23rd, a period of less than one year! This comes shortly after the news that the PS3 sold over a million units in all of Europe for December alone, so needless to say Sony should have something to smile about now.

To put things into perspective, a UK site known as Chart Track keeps track of sales reports for many technology related products. Chart Track reported that the Xbox 360 and PS3 were neck and neck for the last four weeks of 2007, but now the PS3 is outselling the 360 in the new year. Furthermore, the Playstation 3 hit the one-million mark quicker than its predecessor, the Playstation 2, which makes us think that only good things will come from here on out.
