Hudson Entertainment’s RPG franchise hits the PSP & DS next week.
Hudson Entertainment, part of Hudson Soft, is bringing two new versions of its classic RPG franchise to Sony and Nintendo. Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts is distributed by Konami Digital Entertainment Inc., and both versions are retailing for $29.99.

“We are thrilled to bring back a classic RPG franchise on current gen platforms,” stated John Greiner President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment. “Both the PSP system and Nintendo DS games offer players two deep, action-packed RPG experiences that truly represent what the Dungeon Explorer property is all about.”

Gamers will see the PSP and DS version delivering a unique gaming adventure, with an all new engaging stories. Owners of the PSP will find themselves on an adventure to uncover the fate of a legendary kingdom. Players will be thrown into epic battles as they fight against many different types of creatures. Dungeon Explorer delivers multiple types of weapons, armor and equipment that can lead to hundreds of combinations that can be changed on the go. Gamers will also be able to choose from more than 150 different kinds of fighting techniques. One technique, unique to Dungeon Explorer, is Big Bang Arts which allows three players to combine their attacks in Ad-hoc Multiplayer Mode. The combination of the three players attack unleashes devastating damage on their enemy.

Now owners of the DS will have the same great game play, though on a different adventure. The DS story takes place years after the PSP events have occurred. Dungeon Explorer on the DS puts its adventures in a land overrun by the undead. A legend tells of a hero who will rise up to the defeat this growing danger. The quest will put gamers in search of the lost Ancient Fighting Arts and restore the once tranquil peace of Westria. Players will discover over 60 fighting styles from 8 different fighting schools. Players will have to learn the arts to become skilled enough to successfully wage war against the danger threatening the land. As in the PSP, players can team up in groups of three via the Nintendo Wi-fi connection.
