From the creators that brought you Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 3 comes the next chapter in the Son of Sparda Saga; Devil May Cry 4. ![]() Developer: Capcom Genre: Action Number of Players: 1 Release Date: February 5, 2008 Rating: M (For Mature) Platform: PS3 / Xbox 360 / PC In Devil May Cry 4, you control a new protagonist named Nero who is voiced and motion captured by Johnny Yong Bosch [You might remember him from 'Trigun', 'Bleach', and 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers']. The story is about Nero who is part of a church or a secret society called 'The Order of the Sword'. They're a group of people who worships the legendary Sparda. Virgil literally goes berserk and wants to kill Dante after witnessing him killing the members of the order. Gameplay trailers reveal that there's a possibility Dante might be a boss in the game. When the first trailer was released alot of gamers thought Nero was Virgil, that is until they noticed the hair, clothing, but most importantly his weapons. His weapons are: 'Blue Rose', a revolver, 'The Red Queen' which is a single-blade sword, and a gauntlet on his arm called 'Devil Bringer' which is the source of his power. It's also confirmed that Lady and Trish will return. Also there are new characters named Kyrie, Credo, Gloria, and Agnus. Will the Gameplay Action be more impressive? Yes, this time it'll be more exciting than DMC3. Of course the Skills and Techniques that Dante used in DMC3 will return but they will be updated. Though Nero will have his own Devil Trigger and own techs he won't be able to retrieve weapons from bosses like Dante did in DMC3. The good news is, you'll have fun playing as Nero since he uses a sword based on the swords used by the Order. He modified his sword [the red queen] so it would be stronger than the Order's. In theory his sword might be stronger than Dante's and Sparda's combined. His sword is so powerful that it was created with a motorcycle grip so that when he twists it, a propellant is released that it adds force to the sword's impact. Will the Controls be the same as DMC3? Well according to Kobayashi when he mentioned about DMC4 not being exclusive to PS3 but to just PS3 and the 360 he states, "the feel of the controller may cause a slight difference." It'll probably stay the same. but due to the updated controllers, it might affect the gameplay and take another turn. When will I be able to control Dante? According to Capcom, Dante will be available at the second half of the game til the final Boss. Graphics? Kobayashi also mentioned that there won't be any differences between PS3 and 360. But in terms of graphics, besides the consoles that differentiate each other, it's just the original DMC games that make them different. Though in this one, Dante and Nero have thrown away their anime-ish look and have gone for a close live-action movie look. Sounds kinda silly to describe, but when you play the game for yourself you'll see. Music? There will be more music than DMC3. Actually its going to be much better. Plus the original 'Lock and Load' song from the original DMC is remixed and remade. And Shawn McPherson also known as 'Shootie HG' who did vocals for DMC3, is writing the lyrics and will perform the song. Do you think DMC4 will be promising? I can't say for sure whether or not it will be. But then again, with characters like Nero and his Devil Bringer, and Dante as the so called nemesis, I'm sure it will be quite an exciting game to play. |
