Competition has heated up recently in the gaming world, and the women have found their spot as true competitors alongside the men. How did they do this? GotFrag knows...
Enter, the female gaming community. Rather new to the world of eSports as far as true competition entails, we are in an age where professional teams range from male to female teams that compete in a number of games. There are plenty of people who wonder "why do the females get to play on the same level as the men?" and I have the answers... talent, determination, and overall skill. Don't believe me? There are a number of teams that will shut down the doubters. Whether the game is Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo 2 or Guitar Hero, some of the best players are women. Many guys won't be able to accept that, but it's just true! Given time to hone in their skills in their respective games, these females have taken the opportunity to truly show off what they have and how good they are at their game. At the most recent MLG Las Vegas Stop, three of the four games held for playoffs included females in one way or another. Whether it be a couple of individuals in Smiley and Xena in Halo 2, or the entire PMS team in Rainbow Six Vegas, women are making a mark in the competitive scene. No longer should women be seperated from the men, but now they are fighting to take over the positions of the men as the number one video gamers. PMS Clan/Frag Dolls - Rainbow Six Vegas Placing amazingly in this 2007 season of the MLG Pro Circuit, the PMS Rainbow Six Vegas team came into MLG Las Vegas with a very high seed that seemed to proceed their expectations. Showing that the girls can definitely clean up the yard, team PMS was able to take down a number of high ranked RB6 Vegas teams that had gone in to take all of the glory and the money. Being primarily sponsored by none other than Verizon FiOS, this team surely has a name under their belt as they enter tournaments with one of the best all-female team's in the country. Falling shortly behind the PMS clan in skill would be the Frag Dolls, whom have shown up to every stop of the MLG 2007 Pro Circuit to show the guys what they've got. In the process of fighting the guys for a number one spot in the MLG Pro Circuit, the Frags Dolls have taken on none other than the PMS clan. With battles going back and forth, it is obvious that these two female teams show quite a bit of talent as the fans surround both in constant struggles for supremacy. Team Genuwin - Halo 2 Whoever said that girls can't play Halo is definitely wrong in so many ways. Take team Genuwin, featuring none other than Halo 2 professionals Smiley and Xena. Just recently, team Genuwin was announced the first Halo 2 team to go professional with a female on the team, making history in the world of Major League Gaming. Surely an amazing accomplishment, it doesn't stop at the words. Xena and Smiley surely show up with their skill as they take on teams such as Xit Woundz, 5K, NLR, and numerous other top-tiered professional teams on a regular basis. They don't just sit back and take a loss however, they take advantage of their opportunity and give the guys their hardest fought battle in the circuit every time. With their constant success, many media outlets are looking to speak to Xena on a regular basis to promote the competitive gaming scene. Major League Gaming has provided an exclusive look at each stop through the eyes of Xena herself on their site, which is a welcome note to many females looking for another perspective. Don't worry, there's plenty more where that came from! Page:
