Remember when you first picked up that SEGA or Nintendo controller? Have you ever wondered what would happen if two of the most competing icons that represented your favorite consoles clashed? Well, here is your dream come true. Of course, if you don't like Mario Party Style games then this is probably not for you; perhaps, Super Smash Bro Melee, which will also have Sonic in it. Many fans of both console icons, Sonic and Mario, have been waiting for the two to finally meet and battle it out. Even though the game will take place next year at the Beijing Olympics, the game is being released on November 6th of this year for the Wii. Rumors of this game have been buzzing since 2001, when Sega changed their status from Hardware to third-party developer. Soon, Sega and Nintendo on March 28, 2007 announced that the game wasn't a rumor. This led many gamers to believe it was an April Fools joke. The rumors were all denounced when Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America confirmed of the production at E3.

Ready, Go!

Not only could you play as Sonic, Mario, and their friends but you can also play as your Mii. The basis of this game is in the style of Mario Party and a regular Olympics game, the only difference is the fact that you'll be using the Wii-mote and Nunchuk controller to control your character on screen. This, in my opinion, gives it a whole lot of flavor. Not only that, but there’s also been a hinted possibility that it'll be possible to use the Wii-zapper for Skeet shooting.

In addition, it has been announced that there will be 20 events in both Tournament and Circuit mode, along with single player mode such as: Judo, Table tennis, Swimming, Track, and Hammer Throw. Your living room isn't the only place you could play with your friends but also online as well, using Nintendo Wi-fi; which you could use the leader boards to check your best times and scores for competition against friends across the nation. If you ask me, this game will be a winner when it is released. Basically one of the first and best Sports/Party games that contains a crossover. I'd definitely get this game. And best of all anyone of any age group can play it. It's also, great for the family.
