When you think that Final Boss couldn't break any other records or do something never done before, they find a way. In a poll of admins and top analysts at MLG, only three out of the eight panelists had Final Boss winning. The popular pick was Str8 Rippin, who won the last major event MLG Orlando. Still, Final Boss ignored the disrespect in taking out the eighth seeded PainX, fourth seed FBI The Agency, and second seed Carbon in back to back series. Carbon took out Str8 Rippin 6-4, never giving the favorites a chance to face Final Boss. Final Boss not only picked up the Championship hardware and $100,000 for their first place win but one of their members won the MVP award. Orge2 captured the MVP title in very impressive fashion going +162 in +/- (frags-deaths) compared to his teams combined +124 +/-. The dominating performance helped carry his team to victory. The popular theme at the event was an end to an era. Halo 3's recent release means that MLG will be moving to that new version next season, this is what most indicators seem to be pointing towards. The decision hasn't been announced officially. So the run of Halo 2 events looks to have closed just like Halo 1 before it. The ironic part is that Final Boss won the first MLG Halo 2 event, now all signs point to them winning the last one as well. 1) Final Boss - $100,000 2) Carbon - $60,000 3) Str8 Rippin - $40,000 4) FBI The Agency - $28,000 5) 5K - $20,000 6) FBI Icon - $14,000 7) PainX - $10,000 8) NLR - $8,000 |
