From Japan comes one of the largest gaming conventions in the world. The Tokyo Game Show.

(Tokyo, Japan) -- Where there is big business, there is little Tokyo. Take a 30 minute drive and you’re in Chiba, Japan, home of the 2007 Tokyo Game Show. Starting Wednesday September 20th until the 23rd, will begin one of the biggest gaming conventions in the entire world. All events will take place at Makuhari Messe Convention Center With the dismissal of the L.A. based E3 EXPO, The Tokyo Game Show hopes to be the grounds for major announcements from the largest publishers, developers and game creators throughout the industry.

The Tokyo Game Show started in 1996 and appeared two times per year until 2002 when it was changed to every Fall season. The TGS is expected to draw in over 180,000 visitors in just a few days where both big business, media and the public can attend.

The first two days of the event are solely for press and developers and this year the TGS is opening for a 4th day to accommodate the increase in public visits.

Who knows what kind of huge news will be announced!

Although historically Nintendo stays out of participating at the show, there are hopefuls who are looking forward to some samples of great game selections. Heavy hitters like Sony and Microsoft, are expected to announce some major news, possibly touting a new price drop.  Many fans are hoping to score new information about long awaited games such as Assassin's Creed, Halo 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Rock Band, Call of Duty 4, Devil May Cry 4, Fable 2, Fatal Inertia and many more.

The event will be attended by DPAD’s Editor-in-Chief Mike “Australia” Antebi and FPSLabs Executive Director Stu “rockstar” Grubbs. As news breaks and details are given in their respective fields, news and features will be posted as it is received, so stay tuned!

The TGS follows three key visions to ensure the 2007 event is a success

Stronger Business Day

In order to comply with the request of visitors attending for business discussion or media information gathering purposes, Business Days will be expanded to two full days. Space will be provided for business consultations, and a range of new facilities and services will be in place, and the Developer Tools and Middleware Area will be re-envisioned as a Business Solutions Area.

Increased Internationalization

In recognition of the increasing number of overseas exhibitors and visitors, the event website and signage will be provided in multi-language format, and a program book will be created for the convenience of foreign attendees. During the show, an International Party will be hosted to provide an opportunity for foreign exhibitors and visitors to meet select representatives from the Japanese industry.

More Users, Greater Satisfaction

We plan to provide a Kids’ Area and increase and improve the content aimed at parents and children. A Game Science Museum will be added to the Video Games Museum that was launched last year.
