CPL Summer Gears Up for War

The CPL is pleased to announce the addition of yet another tournament to the Summer 2007 CPL Championships, which will take place Thursday, August 30th to Sunday, September 2nd, 2007 (Labor Day Weekend) at the Hilton Anatole, in Dallas Texas.

The new tournament will be a $10,000 (4 versus 4) Gears of War tournament on the Xbox 360, organized by the Cyberathlete Amateur League and the Video Gamers League.

The Gears of War cash prize distribution will be:

    1st - $4,000
    2nd - $3,000
    3rd - $2,000
    4th - $1,000

About VGL

The Video Gamers League (VGL) founded by Jeff Gross is the first gaming league for console players. The first VGL event was held November 20, 1999.

Also, team registration is now open for an online CPL Gears of War: Execution tournament that will effect CPL seeds (the $5k Execution Season 1 will also be considered in CPL seeding). This tournament is open to anyone and is free of charge.
