Gears of Wars' inaugural event is underway today here at MLG Meadowlands 2007. GotFrag is on site at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey, home to the Meadowlands stop of the MLG Pro Circuit.
As round one of the Gears of War event was underway, no surprise was to be seen as LGD Red walked away with the number one seed, and a bye into the second round of open play. Matches were played and no excitement was to be seen with one exception. The number 48 seed, Just Cause Project, toppled Rise to Legends, a team which was heavily favored to go far into the event. This is proof that no matter what game is being played, whether it be eSport or sport, anything can happen.
As matches played out in both the round one of winners and losers bracket, the time showed 4pm on the clock. There was really no surprise here as the favorites of the event such as LGD Black, LGD Red, MoB Hot n Mild, and vVv Vision progressed further into the winners bracket round three.
The time is now 9pm, round three is about to begin. Who knows what's in store here at the Gears of War event at the Meadowlands MLG event. Some teams to keep your eye on are LGD Red, MoB Hot n Mild, and No Name Noobs.
