The World Series of Video Games had its first event in Wuhan, China last week, and will be coming State side June 21-24 in Louisville, Kentucky. Featured games at the WSVG include Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake 4, World of Warcraft, Fight Night Round 3 and Guitar Hero II.

However, following a recent announcement in response to intense demand, Gears of War will make an appearance at the WSVG Dallas event being played July 5-8. The prize breakdown for the event is as follows:

1st: $4,500
2nd: $3,000
3rd: $1,500
4th: $1,000
Total: $10,000

Registration is now open for the events in Louisville and Dallas, and voting ends Monday, May 14 for which Gears of War maps to be used.
