The Game Developers Conference in San Francisco hosts keynotes and other events in San Francisco, with the entire video game world watching. The Annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) allows both new developers and experienced developers to learn, meet publishers and have a place for to show off what they've got. GDC 2007 is being held from March 5th through the 9th in San Francisco at the Moscone Convention center, in the heart of the city. Do not mistake this for some small gathering; this huge convention averages over 12,500 attendees each year.This is a huge convention as it attracts over 12,500. The history of the GDC dates back over 20+ years and shows no signs of slowing down. It originally started out as a conference of 25 developers in a living room of a game designer and has since grown into one of the largest organizations of developers in the world. Their original intention was focused solely on computer games but now has expanded into dedicated consoles, hand held devices, cell phones and even PDAs. The 2007 conference has the potential to be the best yet. With days full of events ranging from the 7th annual Game Developers Choice Awards where developers earn peer-recognition for their games, live. The concert styled event will play some of the music from the biggest video games of all time. It isn’t just about fun events there are also sessions with developers from such games as Final Fantasy XII, Gears of war, The legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, to name a few. There are different workshops to learn from as well, such as the game design workshop which is a two day workshop that is helping developers learn new creative changes while designing a game.
